Story Behind the Name

The name HairBru, (pronounced ‘hairbrew’) was inspired by, as Nadia recalls, the ritual of grandmothers and mothers telling ancestral stories to their daughters as they were braiding hair and making tea. While the tea was brewing, so were the folk tales. Stories were passed on, strong bonds were forged.

    Nadia started Hairbru with a simple but powerful vision: to create a space where hair is celebrated, cared for, and honored. Growing up, she saw firsthand how difficult it could be to find stylists who understood and respected textured hair. She knew there had to be a better way — a place where clients feel seen, valued, and confident in their own hair.

    With years of experience and a deep passion for her craft, Nadia built Hairbru on the principles of quality, education, and community. She believes that caring for hair is more than a service — it’s an act of love, culture, and pride.

    Today, Hairbru is more than a salon. It’s a welcoming space where stylists can grow, clients can feel celebrated, Nadia’s mission remains the same: to empower, educate, and elevate the natural beauty of every client who walks through our doors.

    Hair Stylist & Studio Manager

    With expertise as both a loctician and natural hair stylist, she is dedicated to delivering high-quality service and ensuring every client feels confident and cared for. In her leadership role, Amina supports the growth of the salon while fostering a welcoming and professional environment. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, writing, and exploring music.

  • Iryna

    Hairstylist

    With over 10 years of international experience in Ukraine, Poland, and Canada, I specialize in haircuts, colouring, hair restoration, and Italian hair extensions. I also worked as a L’Oréal color technician and brand ambassador, training stylists in modern coloring techniques. My mission is to inspire and bring joy through beautiful, healthy hair. I am passionate about sharing my knowledge with future stylists and helping them grow.

    Social Media & Marketing Manager

    Laura gets to run our socials, create fun and engaging content, and share all the amazing styles and moments that happen here. She also helps out with marketing, from planning campaigns to making sure our brand always feels fresh, welcoming, and always on the look out for how we can be better stay connected to our community. She loves being part of a team that celebrates creativity, confidence, and helping clients feel their absolute best.

    Tayo is a braider, loctician, and barber-in-training at Hairbru. Her work is rooted in precision and artistry, from detailed braids to caring for every stage of a client’s loc journey. Every client who sits in Tayo’s chair receives full attention and a commitment to leaving them looking sharp and feeling unstoppable.

    Elohor is a loctician at Hair Bru, known for her creativity, curiosity, and passion for mastering new skills every day. She approaches her craft with dedication and a commitment to excellence, embodying her favorite motto: “What is worth doing is worth doing well.
